How it works is a new place for students all across the UK to meet and trade their new and second hand books for cash or other books. The idea is that by trading your books with someone in your local area or university, you will save on the cost of new books, postage, and travel associated with obtaining them any other way.

Why Choose iSwapBooks?

We believe we offer many extra services that set us aside from our competitors! Just check out the table below to see for yourself. We focus primarily on connecting people face-to-face, avoiding the costs and inconvenience incurred through postage.

Selling It's as Easy as 1-2-3: Register - List - Sell

You can only buy and sell books if you are a member, you can register now. Once logged in, you can search the website and start buying and swapping books. Registration, buying, and selling is 100% free!

As soon as you have an account, you can start selling your books immediately. Simply enter the ISBN of the book you wish to sell and our system will fill out the appropriate details for you, which you can edit manually should you so desire. If someone is interested in your book after seeing it on iSwapBooks, they can click the 'Buy Now' button and they will be given the option either to offer a book to trade with you, or make an offer of cash, depending on the options you chose when listing it.

Buying It's as Easy as 1-2-3: Register - Search - Buy

Once you find a book you wish to purchase or exchange, you will need to register an account. It's then as easy as making an offer to the seller, or offering a book for exchange - depending on the sort of listing you are viewing. Unless the seller has specified they are 'Willing to Post' the item, you will then need to arrange a mutually convenient place to meet up and carry out the swap! We suggest somewhere public such as the library.

Messages and Enquiries

All members have a messages page where all book-related enquiries and offers are stored. Current and past enquiries can be viewed and responded to here as necessary.

If you wish to accept an offer, you can do so by ticking the relevant box and pressing 'Accept Offer' on the page. This will let the buyer know you are happy to carry out the exchange, and you will then need to arrange somewhere to meet unless posting the item.

Once it has an accepted offer, your book will be removed from the active section of the website and moved to your 'Books Sold' page, which contains a history of all the books you have traded using iSwapBooks.
